Our Programs

One of the most common misconceptions about Hawaii Animal Rescue Foundation is that we only help animals. In fact, much of our work benefits and/or directly serves the human residents of our community.

We are pleased to offer many programs for Hawaii Residents, including:

  • Partnering with Educators

  • Pet adoptions

  • Spay & Neuter program

  • Partners Across the State  re-homing program

  • Off-island relocation program

  • Volunteer programs

  • And much more!

Spay & Neuter Program

Spay/neuter is one of the greatest gifts you can give to your pet, family, and community. These routine medical procedures not only reduce the number of animals who enter shelters, but they may also prevent many medical and behavioral problems from developing in a cat or dog, allowing your pet to lead a longer, healthier and happier life.

We view spay/neuter as one of the keys to achieving our mission of ending the killing in the nation’s shelters, and our work reflects that view. Thanks to a generous donor we now have our own spay/neuter clinic and offer low-cost spay/neuter surgeries to the public. Contact HARF at (808) 876-0022 to schedule you pets’ appointment.

Partners Across the State

Hawaii Animal Rescue Foundation pets come from a variety of sources, such as the transfer of animals from public shelters to relieve overcrowding, working with local dog and cat rescues, as well as owner surrender.

We partner with animal welfare organizations across all of the Hawaiian islands. Our team and volunteers fly these healthy, adoptable animals to us here on Maui. This is one effort we are taking to help lessen the homeless pet overpopulation that plagues our state.
